DeCLarAtion OF A World CHanger
Today, I will live honorably through my thoughts, actions, and speech. I choose to be full of faith; I will not only be a hearer but a doer of the Word of God. I will serve before I demand, I will love and not hate, and I will give before I take. Today, I choose to make a difference in this world and to be a part of something bigger than myself. I choose to dedicate my life to prayer and ask God for His miraculous power and the courage to do the impossible. I will make Godly relationships a priority in my life as I esteem others higher than myself. Today, I will live my life in such a way that I will Change the World. ~~
Mission Accomplished!
The missionaries have had an amazing 26 days! They have prayed, painted, hiked, skated, landscaped, laughed, cried, sung, acted, ministered...and loved. They have bonded and made friendships that will last a lifetime. They have changed the lives of others, as well as their own. In their last few days at headquarters in Texas, they will share stories and hear about the other missions. They will prepare to head home and continue to change the world, in their own hometowns. To God be all the glory.
(you can see her white bed in the middle of the floor...well, of course.)'Fun Day' in Edinburgh
Alas, Tuesday was their final day in Scotland. They spent their 'fun day' in the capital city of Edinburgh. They shopped for souvenirs and toured historical sites, including the famous Edinburgh Castle . Click the link to see more of this magnificent castle!
In His Service
Working with Overtoun House they partner with area churches, skate parks and a local elderly home to do service projects and personal evangelism. On certain evenings, they run 'youth nights' where they hang out with 16-25 yr olds, getting to know them and sharing Jesus. They also perform their drama in the city streets of Glasgow. One day, the team was practicing their drama and noticed two random teenagers hanging around outside the center. They invited them in to ‘judge’ the drama and get their feedback. By the time they were done, the 2 teenagers had both made commitments to Christ and have been back to the church for other events since then. God is moving...in Scotland.
You can see 'Katy' in her yellow converse shoes in the 1st pic (yes, she is a proud member of The Converse Crew). You can also see her in the last two pics in the skate park. Sunday, July 4, 2010

Whistle While you Work.. ♫♪♫...♫♪♫
The missionaries have been working hard! Besides their street ministry, they have done lots of painting at the Potter's House, as well as grounds maintenance at Overtoun House.

'At home' in Dumbartonshire
'Katy & company' arrived at the castle on Thursday. This will be 'home' for the remainder of the trip. The beautiful Overtoun House was built in the 1800's. It is quaint and has a rich history, which can be found on the website, along with more pictures. My favorite is that it was once a maternity hospital...as if those were separate from other hospitals? What a sweet heritage. Lord Overtoun would be proud. :)
Take a 'wander' in Dunkeld
The Hermitage is a protected site in Dunkeld, Perth & Kinross. It sits on the banks of the River Braan in Craigvinean Forest. It is home to Ossian's Hall & Ossian's Cave, to honor the blind poet, Ossian.
Also on the grounds are several Douglas Fir trees-one of which was the first tree in Britain to reach 200 feet in height.
Visitors to the site can undertake various walks. The most popular walk is the 0.75 miles (1 km)-long journey to Ossian's Cave. There is also a link to a thirty-mile network of footpaths beyond The Hermitage to various parts of Dunkeld. These paths date back to the 18th century. One path leads you past the beautiful Black Linn Falls.
A stone bridge dating from 1770, is located nearby (where you see 'Katy' in her red shirt). Standing next to it, and appearing to be growing out of it, is a Cedar of Lebanon which is believed to be the oldest tree at The Hermitage.
A nice meander through the Craigvinean forest for the group? Aye!~

A Quick 'Katy' Call
She called at 1pm today (about 7pm there) to say that she is doing well. She went to church this morning. She has not really gone 'out' yet to do ministry, but she and a friend (or friends) went for a walk today and were approached by some Scots that were just excited to meet someone from America. She said they led two of them to Christ! A great thing to do on the Sabbath. :) She said, "Tell everyone I love and miss them!"

Arrival in Scotland!

The first stop is the village of Perth. They will stay this week at the Perth Christian Centre where they will sleep on mats on the floor. They were told to bring a sleeping bag, but Randi has a 'thing' about sleeping bags and refuses to sleep in one. She took sheets and a blanket, instead. ;)
